You Can't Fix This Car

Ok, here we have one Jeffrey Spicoli. Not a genius by any means, but neither is he a fool, despite his somewhat slow witted demeanor. This is evidenced by him voicing his concern that whatever recreational, presumably illegal substance his friend supplied causes brain damage, only to be assured that "only if you take it like, every day, for a month". Having thus had his fears allayed, he wisely replies "B*tchin!".

http://images5.fanpop.com/image/phot...39-434-478.png

Which brings me to my main argument. Having wrecked the b*tchin' Camaro belonging to the smoldering mountain of a man named Charles Jefferson, our hero finds himself and Mr. Jefferson's younger brother faced with two equally unappealing prospects; Jefferson the elder will first s**t, then kill them. Not finding either of these outcomes desirable, Spicoli, in the space of one presumably long night, has the wrecked Camaro towed and dropped in front of the opposing football team's school, with some antagonistic graffiti sprayed across the side to clarify the purpose of this automotive desecration. You may note in the scene that the helpful midnight tow team helped themselves to the t-tops as well as the 6x9 rear deck speakers. Also, perhaps this intrepid crew further wrecked the nose of the car? The damage in daylight looks far worse than it did when they ran the car into some stacked cinder blocks.

One thing puzzles me, though; just like the horse's head in The Godfather being dumped onto the bed of the movie producer WITHOUT WAKING HIM UP, how did this wrecked Camaro get flatbedded from the accident scene and DUMPED RIGHT IN FRONT OF A PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL with nobody, especially of the law enforcement variety, noticing a damn thing??? I'm not even going to address how Mr. Spicoli came up with this brilliant yet convoluted plan in the first place, unless he somehow was acquainted with someone like Mr. Wolf from Pulp Fiction.

They used "suspension of disbelief".

GH85Carrera 02-23-2015 07:28 AM

Wow, trying to put logic into that movie is hopeless.

Virtually every Hollywood comedy as huge holes in the plot or common sense.

The TV CSI and cop shows do not even stay in the realm of reasonable much less logical. I really want a copy of the magic software every show uses that can enhance a low res video and make so sharp you can read a license tag or get facial details.

It is just a movie. It is not meant to make logical sense.

craigster59 02-23-2015 07:31 AM

It was flatbedded to location the morning of the shoot by a Local 399 Teamster. Any other questions?

Case in point:

They could have driven away from this (after removing the cinder blocks), maybe on one flat tire.

Next thing you are going to tell me is that

007 never surfed on the glacier wave

Andy Dufrane's "borrowed" suit didn't smell like sewer after it being only wrapped in a plastic bag and him only having a bar of soap

The A-Team didn't fly that tank

no sir--not buying it

GH85Carrera 02-23-2015 10:26 AM

Wait, you mean Chuck Norris, um Walker Texas Ranger did not actually whip a Grizzly bear?

ckelly78z 02-23-2015 10:43 AM

I prefer the pool scene with Phoebe Cates !

Along the same lines, why does hollywood think that we need to hear brakes squeal every time a car comes to a stop? We can see the car slowing, because, movies.
Doesn't matter if it's a '32 Chevy flatbed or a Cadillac CV-X.

Squeeeee. Every time.

craigster59 02-23-2015 11:15 AM

And tires screeching around a corner on a dirt road. That really grinds my gears.

Life's the same, I'm moving in stereo, life's the same, except for my Z28

flipper35 02-23-2015 11:46 AM

I like this one. Banging gears as he takes off. In reverse.

Movie: "The Sniper". Not using a sniper rifle in a majority of the scenes

sand_man 02-23-2015 12:37 PM

Wait...what were we talking about, again?

DanielDudley 02-23-2015 12:42 PM

This is the new math, isn't it ? Like you want to solve it, but you can't because you are part of the equation.

GH85Carrera 02-23-2015 02:29 PM

The sound effect that bugs me the most is every explosion has a instant boom. Even in space.
