Website Web hosting gurus..

Ran into a problem with the host for Rudtners Racing one day "server not found" and no one was picking up the phone at the hosting company

I had backups on disc of the site... and Bill got a new domain...

Rudtners Racing Group is alive and well...

What do I have to to to get the original domain RR to re-direct to RRG?

its been ages since I set all of it up... Someone else did the new domain, I just supplied the discs..

I think I figured it out

change where the DNS servers point on RR?

will this redirect to the new site RRG?

You own the right to the name unless you let it expire. Just transfer your domain name to your new hosting provider. Most reputable hosting services will have a process for you to follow.

PM me in the morning if you want.

Happy to lend a hand for a fellow Strong Islander.

Unless of course you are a Rangers fan.:D

We own both names, had problems with the company that hosted RR, they went under or something.... hence the new site and host....

Want to make so anyone who has the old site bookmarked will be automagically directed to the new site

EDIT: Looks like the new site is under a new domain name.

But you guys still own the original domain. rudtnersracing.com does not expire till 12/2015.

So you need to get back to the original registrar and update the DNS records and then it will automagically hit the original name.

Do you have access to the DNS for RR.com?

It's registered with Register Domain Names at Register.com - Business Web Hosting Services and Domain Name Registration Provider

Just set the DNS records as a forwarder to RRG.com

And Islanders reclaim the division lead and are back to 3rd in the league.

Where are all the Rangers fans from yesterday all excited because their team barely beat the 3rd worst team in the league?

You gotta be from the Island to understand.

Yes but put the new domains DNS server names into the original domains DNS?

I own RR domain name.... I set up the site for Bill a few years back as a favor, Bill owns the RRG domain name.....

Thank for the help...

My parent had season tickets for the Islanders from the beginning to a few years after "the drive for five" went to some great games..

Easiest way to do it is point rr.com to the same IP address as rrg.com. Basically duplicate all DNS records.

On the hosting side set up rr.com as a hosted domain same as rrg.com but set the root directory of rr.com to the same root directory as rrg.com

Unless of course the new hosting package only allows for one domain.
