Rear wind screen removal/replacement
How difficult? Worse or same as front? Heated and wiper type.
I have a small, about 5/8" across, bit of rust just under the rubber, that I think I should fix. Trying to avoid some unforeseen disaster with taking this on. W'shield shops here have little or no experience with Porsches especially the rear glass. I had installed a new front w'shield, but it was a bit tricky especially with the antennae. They managed it but I wasn't overly impressed. Also these guys are friends and some even colleagues in another business so it's a touchy area. This spot (rust) hasn't gotten any worse since I've owned this car (993) and isn't a deep rust spot, if I lift the rubber a bit it's an easy fix, with the glass out. Opinions?? Also, the paint is original and silver is or can be difficult to match. ![]() Last edited by yellowperil; 03-02-2015 at 06:26 AM.. |

Its not a terrible job with two people. we did my 911 the biggest problem was the defroster wires. If the glass comes out again I doubt I will even hassle with putting the defroster wiring back in..its that bad
