Always loved this stuff even way back when the Hawthorne Caballeros were huge.

Great stuff! That is one tight drumline!

Illinois Cavaliers of DCI?

Wasn't a drummer, but was big into the brass part in high school.

That was pretty awesome. I played in a drum and bugle cord in high school and we marched in all the Mardi Gras parades. It was so much fun!

I played drums in HS too, but we had a harder time marching in line then these guys had fixing their hats. Great sound and show, these kids have so much time in this, I can't imagine.

....saw a lot of their battle of the bands vs. the Golden Knights in the 60's - good stuff and tons of fun.

Top Secret Drum Corps.....from the OP

several other neat vids from their performances at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo (Tattoo = a military performance of music or display of armed forces in general) which is pretty cool since they aren't military.

I've given up on trying to post vids here after many failed attempts (and I've bookmarked the thread here that describes how, and I still can't do it )

I approve of this thread (and was kind of BA in HS). Our director was a percussionist so we got to have marching band in the fall, indoor drumline in the winter, and parade marching band in the spring. Whenever the concert band had something coming up we would get the music a couple days in advance and show up like it was no big deal.

Obligatory picture of me during indoor, probably junior year.

My daughter was in a competitive drum;line that placed in state competition. There was a lot of late night practices and shows every weekend for months. There were some truly outstanding drumlins that I have seen, and this video is one of the best, WOW, they are good and well trained.

My son is in the drumline at his high school. Great group of kids. He started with the largest bass drum and is now on the quads. These kids work hard... As does the entire band.

Yup, Our HS band - Marcus HS, is one of the best around but so are a few others around here. I have actually gone to HS football games just to watch the band shows. These kids practice year round and more then any team. The dedication goes beyond anything I have ever witnessed. For evey spot on the field there are 2 to 3 kids waiting to fill in the spot if the 1st ones get bumped - then they have to earn it back. I think its amazing = no gimmes, you earn the right. You have to prove your worth every week. These kids all do really well in school as well and rarely get into any trouble.

Some parents complain about the long hours and the 'stress' but no one is got a gun to their head. This is what it takes to be one of the best bands in the nation.

I approve.
