Ice?

So I walk outside and put my beer on the top of my Camry and it just skates off! It has this ice stuff ( I looked it up in Wikipedia, so now I know), its all over my car roof and windshield. WTF am I going to do in the morning? Use a credit card or something to scrape it off? My Camry has something labeled a "defrost" button, should I use it? Does it work for all the windows or just the windshield?

I seriously went to a Pep Boys here a few years ago, and they don't sell ice scrapers, you have to buy them in places like Big Bear where they actually get snow. SmileWavy

wait, wut?
the best way i've found to defrost my car, is to wait until 8:00am. the sun is blistering by then. :)

My car got this stuff called "rain" on it yesterday. It's a lot like ice, but much more runny. I read my owner's manual and found this handy lever on the steering column that put into motion these scraper thingies on the windshield that made it easier to see.

Let it warm up for 15 to 20 minutes or so with the heater on in the morning.

^this...
It's the best method for a car to warm up.
Just start the engine turn on the heat and let it idle 15 minutes.
Nice and toasty and ready to go.

I just spray it down with the garden hose! Warms it up no problem.

You would NOT try that anywhere else with a real winter. I remember trying that with HOT water in a cold climate. Ouch ...

Yeah, ice. Someone in CA kindly offered to take some of ours. That was the first installment.

For those of you not in the now about how to clear ice from your windows simply use an empty coffee cup, a ceramic one, empty of course. Hold it by the handle and use the bottom part of the cup and move it back and forth across all the windows in a scraping motion, it'll remove that stubborn ice in no time at all

The ski hill is 5 minutes from me, in fact going skiing today for a couple of hours ...and we have plenty of water.

You drink beer first thing in the morning?

CurtEgerer 03-03-2015 04:04 AM

That's not ice on the beach. This is ice on the beach.

The real easy way to get that stuff off is brake fluid. Just pour a bottle of brake fluid on the roof and let it run down the windshield. Be sure to use the entire bottle.

Today I looked up in sky and there was this strange yellowish round thingy that kind of lit up the dark Environment for a few minutes. Like a lamp in the sky sort of. Very peculiar.
