Does anybody own a 2011- Mercedes Wagon? W212/S212

Looking at a few and interested in actual ownership experiences.

2011 was first model year of S212 in USA, there seem to be a lot of 11s in the used market.

Then in 2012 the car got the DFI motor and 7Gtronic plus gearbox.

Any known issues? Things to look for? Is the dealer the only one who can do a PPI given the computer complexity?

Thanks in advance for any advice, I know there are Benz forums but PPOT is my go to resource.

I just picked up a 2011 E350 4matic. It is not a wagon. Having only owned it for a week, I'm afraid I can't be of much help. I bought the car CPO. It was the second car I have bought from MB as a CPO, and I have been very pleased with their program (previous was a 06 E350).

The cabin fit and finish is excellent as one might expect. My car has a 'performance' package, and it definitely stiffens things up as compared to a normal E class. The COMMAND system (their nav/radio system) seems to get mixed reviews as some find it confusing. I think its easy to use and well thought out, but I'm a network engineer, so make of that what you will.

The 11 model has the previous generation 3.5. I find it to be more than adequate power, but I have admittedly not driven it up a mountain pass with 4 people in the car crammed with luggage. The brakes are excellent, much better modulation than the previous generation.

Sorry I can't be of more help. The 11 models are a steal at the moment because they're now previous generation, and there are tons coming off lease.

Gratuitous photo:

My wife drives a 2011 E350. Loves it. Purchased off lease at around 22k miles IIRC. Just a bit over 60k miles now. No issues other than a torn seat cover that was replaced under warranty. Big, comfy, sport version rides a bit better than most large sedans. Overall mpg is 23ish. Will return 26mpg on long trips. I'll probably get 10 hrs behind the wheel tomorrow and won't be grouchy and sore when I'm done. The car will absolutely devour long road trips. I was specifically looking at 11s and 12s when I bought it. I intentionally avoided the new DI engine given the teething problems Audi and BMW had. In hind sight it looks like M-B figured it out. I'd buy another one. -J
