my first computer had a 20 megabit hard drive partitoned into to two 10s. I think it was a dae woo or some such thing. I did my MBA program work from it. Circa 1984

Our first one is a Comodore PET, one of the first 1,000 made. It's been in a museum a couple of times but right now it's in my parent's garage. It came with 2K of memory that my dad upgraded to 8 at some point. The amount of storage you have depends on what kind of tape you bought.

Dad set me up with work in a warehouse. His friend was an entrepreneurial genius.
He bought 'single-sided' disks in bulk, but all it took was a square punch and a little new packaging to make them 'double sided'.

Actually, it was more than that. You had to format the disk with the /s to add the hidden operating system files.

Oh, the old old days.

At some point folks need to figure out what is worth backing up and what isn't. Minus my 25 GB of pictures I have at most 10 MB of critical files. My daughter has 16 GB of useless pictures on her phone. My son has taken 5 pictures on his phone tops.
