Fun craigslist ad for motorcycle.

No title in hand, title is salvage, no key, owner's (sellers baby daddy) in jail, the 'ferrings' are missing, photos of it sitting in the snow....what could possibly go wrong?!

EDIT: I just noticed that the condition is listed as excellent.

There's no phone number listed - and no title.....red flags for me.

How can you legitimately buy a bike with no title?

I've bought several.

He could extend a power of attorney to pull a title and sell it, for one thing.

Depending on the age (this is an '88) a title might not be required - not sure about the law in Ohio. Still - it's not a legal sale unless the OWNER does it. The daughter probably has no legal right to sell it out from under him if she doesn't have his permission. The fact he's in prison is totally irrelevant.

Good bike to buy for parting out on Fleabay.

Vermont does not issue a title for anything over 15 years old. It could be a $30,000,000 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, but they don't care. When I lived in VT for 10 years, I bought a lot of vehicles without titles, never a Ferrari 250 GTO though:p

Not stolen. Really, not stolen. How many times do I have to say it, it's totally not stolen. Why would you think it was stolen, because it's totally not. Trust me.

M.D. Holloway 03-14-2015 05:47 AM

I think its stolen...

(Motion would buy it for $500 and turn it into a track bike...)

motion 03-14-2015 06:37 AM

I think this one would make a better track candidate.
