Neighbor's car totalled - do you recognize this piece of grill?

A neighbor on our local neighborhood watch site posted that their car was totalled last night while parked on the street. Any idea kind of car this came off of?

Not sure it's a grill. Could be turning signal cover of some sort.

I imagine remnants of the offending vehicle - that needs to be identified to help find the culprit...

Yeah, I get that. I was referring to the area of the part that is in the persons hand. There is a support of some sort there.

Any part number stampings or other identification on the remnant of the grill?

Escalade maybe?

Looking at the chrome though makes me think aftermarket part.

I was also thinking a truck. Maybe an aftermarket lower grill for a truck/SUV?

Take it to your local domestic body shop. I'm sure they'll recognize it.

I suggest from looking at the victim that it WASN'T a truck. I think a truck would've mangled everything up a bit higher.

Are there any liquid trails moving away from the scene? I bet you can find the culprit only a few blocks away, especially if you're in a planned community or something.

I've been told insurance goes to 75% damage of the value of the car then writes it off. There is a bunch of damage to that car.

As to the other cars grill piece maybe from a Buick.

My sister's Subi WRX was recently hit while sitting in front of her house. The damage looked to be less than this, but the entire front sub-frame was knocked out of kilter a few inches.

Crumple zones are just that- Sacrifice the ends of the car, let the passenger area remain intact. Doesn't tale much crumpling to total the car.

so we have a surround with two bars and the wavy bit set at and angle which means that it repeats on the other side.

It could be a truck lower valence, but why would the hood be completely unblemished?

Here's what I saw:
The first strike on the left looks very low. As in slammed ricer low.
The second over the wheel looks tilted. Lightweight car at slower speeds. No skid marks.
There should be paint transfer.
The slant on the side of the grill for lights indicates square squinty style. Honda perhaps but many have them.
The part is very clean and is newer or the owner took good care of the car.

that's a fair bit of proud plastic chrome. I think it will be a GM product.

The first thing that came to my mind when I saw that piece is Chrysler.
