R.I.P. Roscoe
 
Just saw that James Best passed away. He had a pretty impressive acting/songwriting resume, but will "best" be remembered as the guy who was "gonna git them Duke boys" Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane with his sidekick Flash.

I remember him in a Twilight Zone ep. as a hillbilly who came back from the dead, and of course from Hooper.

I did not know the Andy Griffith show guy and sheriff Rosco were the same actor. Jim Lindsey could have been modeled after some of the hillbillys on the "bad" side of my family. He even looks like one of my cousins.

If Goober (Lindsey) could have been modeled after one of your cousins, was Gomer Pyle modeled after you? In the show Gomer and Goober were cousins...:confused:

Jim Lindsey was the name of the character that James Best played in Andy Griffith.

George Lindsey was the name of the actor that played the character named Goober.

Probably just a coincidence but you never know.
