LA is out of the playoffs? What happened there?

I don't know, all I know is the Islanders just squeaked in and the Rangers got the Presidents Cup.

Annoying because till last month the Islanders were killing it and beating the Rangers which just made it that much better.

Best season the Islanders have had in a loooong time and looked like serious contenders for Lord Stanley's cup.

Then they just fell apart.

Hoping they get their mojo back and quick.

It would be nice to close down the old Coliseum on a high note.

Kings: no depth and tired players

In the meantime, I hope Chiarelli gets thrown out on his keister. Bad trades and cap management put the B's in a bad place this year. A few injuries and we had no depth and our defense is a shadow of what it once was.

I don't know if you guys have ever seen any of the Tonight Show Superlatives that Jimmy Fallon does, but they're pretty funny. IIRC, he began doing them on Thursday nights before NFL weekends. It basically parodies the high school yearbook superlatives we all remember like Most Likely to Succeed, etc. with players' faces and creative captioning.

Enjoy... these are the ones he did last night on NHL Stanley Cup Playoff players... man, his staff found some goofy looking guys... be sure to stick around for the last one:

L.A. cut it too close. If you continually fall in and around seventh, eighth, and ninth, eventually you will finish ninth.

They save themselves for the playoffs each year, this year they saved too much...

My Sharks have so much talent and looked like scheet this year! I miss Cheechoo.

Sens are in with a 3-1 win over Philly. Seemed impossible six weeks ago, when they had about an 8% chance of advancing, and Boston was over 80%.

And now Boston is down to hoping Buffalo can knock off the Pens....Boston has a 90% chance of missing the post-season now. Shocking.

Montreal having pretty good season but nobody talk about it.With the best goalie and if they start to score more goal hopefully will go one more step than last year.

Por_sha911 04-11-2015 08:37 PM

I predict Chiarelli is gone (and IMO rightfully so).

Sens fan here. Wow. Could Hammond be MVP? Or the Vezna?

Bittersweet, though. My club uses the parking lot at their stadium for autox, so we can't secure dates until the Sens are out.

Had he played 43 games, yes. At 23? No chance.

Well, some good news regarding Patrick Kane. Cleared to play, game 1 vs Predators this Wed..

Amazing when you think of the endurance it takes for any one of them to the Cup. Brutal-

This, at least in part, explains the Kings failure to make the playoffs.

strupgolf 04-13-2015 03:06 PM

Oh geeeze, so what the hell. Your team did not get in, get a life.

intakexhaust 04-16-2015 08:26 AM

Helluva a rally and battle! Hawks vs. Predators

Hockey rocks.

My comment was essentially agreeing with the quote from Por_sha.

But I will try to 'get a life', God forbid I should enjoy hockey.

That was the problem. People get confused when we agree on something about hockey. ;)

Incredible hockey being played in both east and west. Tonight the Rangers will be stepping on the ice with an attitude and something to prove.

In other news:
Bruins have a new GM. Sweeney is throwing mixed signals about Julien. On one hand he says he wants to talk to Claude about his vision for the team but Sweeney also said “There will be some changes going forward,” “There will be personnel changes. There will be staff member changes.”

Maybe the first part is a smoke screen to make axing Claude seem not premeditated.

Sweeney is using a return to the big bad Bruins identity as his platform. The question remains was the move away from that identity due to Claude's coaching or Chiarelli's ugly trades?

Brian 162 05-20-2015 06:32 PM

In other news Mike Babcock signed to coach the Leafs for 8 years and $50 million.

nostatic 05-20-2015 09:30 PM

Will be interesting to see how the Ducks come back (or not) for game 3. Heatbreaker at home.

Rangers look to be in trouble. Lundquist may not be able to save them.
