I’m in the brother bandwagon. I’ve had a few different ones each of which I handed off to friends and relatives as I needed upgrades. All the old ones are still in service. Super low maintenance.

I ended up with a color laser mfc. (Scanner, printer and fax) duplex printing, on the network so all devices in the house can print to it.

Gotta look into a laser monochrome for sure...seems like our HP inkjet runs out of ink in less than 100 pages - ridiculous!

I bought a Dell Color Laser E525w and love it. Full color, scan-fax-copy and print. Built in Apple Print.

A new set of toner cartridges the Cyan Magenta and Yellow and two Black is 30 bucks and last well over a year before I used any up, and they nevr dry up and go bad.

Unless you are trying to print true Photo Quality prints on the fancy paper, get a laser printer. My printer does amazing prints on plain old bond paper. I have never tried to print on fancy paper.

So, about 3 years ago, I started the same thread subject, took Glens recommendation for the Dell E525, and been very happy since. First Wireless printer I've owned also.

Thanks Glen

Glad it worked out for you. It seems that often I reccomend something and they get a total lemon POS and hate me for it. ;)

I just check and I have printed 2954 pages total, not not burning it up with use. The original toner set was used up long ago, and the replacements were under 30 bucks for the color and two black cartridges set.

Late to the party here, but the last HP printer I bought delivered 12 pages before dying. I've had better luck with Epson inkjects but currently use a Xerox Workcentre 6027 color laser, which has been troublefree.

Inkjet crap has been totally obsolete for a decade.
The $100 Brother laser I got 8 years ago is working great.
Insane value and toner refills cost $5 off Ebay.

Had a Brother color laser 3in1. When it eventually died got a Canon color laser 3in1. Ink jets just dried out too much since I don't print often.

2015

I hate all printers. They are now disposable. Lately have been using the Epson with the ink tanks. Ink is way cheaper and lasts a long time.

Resurrected a thread from 2015.

To close the story, I ended up with a Brother HL3140. 4 maintenance free and happy years later I just had to shake the toner cartridge for the first time.

HP can suckit.

Good choice!
I am shocked when people still have 1990's inkJet technology

This, combined with the OP is what I would have posted.

I was tired of HP and their BS. Bought a Samsung which was great until HP took over (bought Samsung’s printer line) and updated the firmware. We now have a Xerox 6027 which is great!
