Thanks for putting this together Hugh and thanks to you and Donna for a great lunch. thanks to Jim (lowyder993) and Craig T for making it an even longer fun filled day with the surf flyfishing in the AM.
Nice seeing all the old faces and meeting some new ones, we had a great time! Too bad you couldn't stick around for lunch Jim Bremner, we'll all have to get together soon!

Yep...it was a REAL MAN'S DAY today! In the surf at 6:30 a.m. hucking flies at finiky fish. CraigT (aka the Cherry) put on a clinic for us ahem more experienced fly fishers bringing 5 to the beach. Craigster had a couple and yours truly wore the skunk stripe. After a nice breakfast off to sling lead. My ears are still ringing from that GD BMG .50 a couple slots over.
Then to top it off...meat...bar b qued...and beer...and bro's. Now...if the wife will comply then my day will be complete! ![]() GREAT time guys. Any of you others when this comes up, jump on it...an EXCELLENT group!

Yes, Thank you Hugh and Donna for you warm hospitality. Lunch was great, and what a perfect setting for an outdoor BBQ, backed up to the mountains under old oak trees.
Manly-man day for sure! Pounding waves surf fishing with the Craigster and Jim, off to bang some spoons at the range, then burgers and beers while talking about cars, behind scenes of making movies, and policing South Central. …Lucky for my wife she's traveling…I'm feeing the testosterone now! It was great to finally meet some of you guys in person.

I had about two gallons of water and a pound of sand inside my waders when I took them off. Surf perch are tough little fish for their size. It was a lot of fun. Thank you Craigster for leading the way.

Thanks guys, glad you could all make it. Fired a bunch of pistols and rifles that I've never seen before. Some that I may never be able to own with CA gun laws.
Let's do it again in six months or so. I'm up for a more central SoCal location. Where we went in Piru, CA is at the extreme north end of Los Angeles County, actually, I think its Ventura County. Gotta get some rest. I have to be up at 4:30 or so for a flight From LAX to Vancouver, BC. |

It was great to meet some additional Pelicans! We had a great time with great company. Thank you Hugh and Donna for opening your beautiful house to us. Hot lead going downrange and hitting targets several hundred yards away with an M4 is not a bad way to spend a day.
Thanks again everyone!
