Sekio watch serve?
I know... I know, no love for the disposable Sekio...
However I have a few old ones that need service and thought I would check here seeing as we have some Horologist (oh yeah, I said it!) on the board. I shall now cast this post into the abyss. Carry on... |

The old ones (I have two) are not serviced by the SCA center - they don't stock parts for the old timepieces. I took mine to Japan hoping to find a simple repair there - no luck so far.

The place in Belmont Shore (assuming it's still in business, think it's called 2nd Street Watch and Clock or something) always took pretty good care of me - variety of different watches. Not cheap but not a rip-off either.

Scott, don't feel bad. My dad gave me a Seiko watch that I've taken in for service many times. Mainly battery replacement. It's more valuable to me than some Rolex or other watch that I could buy.
I found my watch repair guy by visiting jewelers who know and love watches. I ask where they send their personal watches. |
I'm a fan of Seikos. I'd rather have 2 dozen $100 watches than a single $2400 watch.
These, however, are worth around $800 each. Odds are you can find someone local to work on them. If not, the Seiko and Citizen forums can guide you to reputable watchmakers you can mail them to for service. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1429998723.jpg |

That's the one. Of course it's been a few years and things may have changed but they knew their stuff and always treated me right. They are (or were) pretty old school - kinda surprised they even have a web site! |
It's a ways from you but I had this one that I bought in VN in 67 or 68 serviced at a place on the main drag in Laguna Beach. They work on old watches, even a Mickey Mouse pocket watch from GB I bought in 65. Seemed to be ok. Will have to check the name tomorrow when I drive back through.

I've got a rectangular, very thin gold plated case Seiko from 1980. It as no numerales, just black with a simulated diamond at 12 position. People often mistake it for a Movado. I wear it every day. I love the watch although it was a gift from an ex-fiance. I get it serviced by
