T-mobile and free router
T-mobile have these in home hot spots for WIFI calling.
It's really nothing more than a T-mobile tweaked Asus AC dual band router. I have not dug to much into it but it's a version of the Asus I've recommended here several times. Retail it's minimum $150 up to $300 depending on which Asus it's based. They used to give it to you for a $25 deposit but are currently waiving that. So if you are a T-mobile customer they are basically lending you a -$200 router for as long as you like. You can't beat that. |
For laptops:
They have prepaid 4Gb air cards for $20. 5Gb refills for $50. Good for one month only. Get a T-Mobile prepaid 4G USB aircard for $19.99 - CNET Hotspots: 7Gb for $50. 11Gb for $70. Credit check required. Mobile Broadband Plans | Mobile Internet Data Plans | T-Mobile For no credit check, there's a maximum of 5Gb for $40. SCNC Mobile Broadband If you have links to other plans please post. We are getting reamed by Verizon. Somehow I've used almost 18Gb this month (with only a 6Gb extra major download). $120 bucks for internet access..... |
Thanks.
The point was really we've had a few threads about people with poor WIFI performance in the home or simply looking to extend their signal. If you are a T-Mobile customer they will give you one of these for free as long as you are a customer. Asus RT-AC68U Dual-band Wireless-AC1900 Gigabit Router Review & Rating | PCMag.com It's one of the best home routers on the market. That's a sweet deal. |
