My firm (Elanex) does this. Depends on the density of the page - standard is cents per word, rates depend on subject matter. If you like, send it to me and we can provide a quotation

Yup, when I used to get materials translated every agency I ever worked with charged by the word.

Not all languages are the same rate.

Dutch was the most expensive for us.

EDIT: for what it's worth, this is not an area to cheap out on. It is one of those deals where most of the time you get what you pay for. Not saying that an average rate is going to produce an inferior product but more so that the cheapest is usually not a good value proposition.

Finding one with specific industry experience should be a factor in who you choose.

You don't want to be trying to explain what a framastat is.

I am a freelance translator for German into Swedish language.
And I work in the documentation dept in my company, dealing with users guides, software-UIs, translations and localization all day long.

The price very much depends on re-use, called repetitions.
Normally a translation is charged based on new words (most expensive), fuzzy-matches, repetitions and 100%-matches from previous translations (TM, Translation Memories) (cheapest).
