multi position ladders like Little Giant
I am going to purchase one of these type of ladders preferably a 17 footer. Seems like Little Giant has the marketing hype but Werner sells their version for quite a bit less. So who has one and how do you like it ?

I'm a big fan of Werner myself.

I bought the Little Giant when HD had them on sale for less than the Werner one. It's one of those things I only had a couple of intended uses for at the time but has proven itself helpful in a whole lot more scenarios.

Looking online the Werner at Home Depot in 17 ' size is $129.99 and at Lowe's it is $159.99. Lowes says on their website that they will beat competitor price by 10 % I wonder if they will ? I guess I'm off to Lowe's !

Mine is COSCO 10ft length and I use it all of the time. I hang it on the garage wall when dormant.
I like that I can extend it to 10ft and climb onto the first story of the house, pull it up onto the roof and then use it to get onto the second story. A 20ft extension ladder hangs in the garage as well but is a PIA to get out. I only use that when I need to access the side of the 2nd story for window work where the 10 ft wouldn't be safe enough due to the angle. I think my wife paid about $100 with a store discount(Meijer) back around 2008.

My old boss was fond of Little Giant's and every truck had them. Although awkward and at times a pain in the ass, they can be very useful. I think they'd be great for any home owner and think I'll buy one.

Bought the Little Giant in 1992 when we had a split-level house and it has been worth every penny. There were no knock-offs at that time that I was aware of and haven't really looked at the Werners. Although it is heavy and can be a pain, it is a very handy ladder to have around the house if you are a DIYer.

I like my Little Giant. It is heavy, so I only get it out when I need to get on the first story roof. I can angle the top section down and it lays flat on the roof. I can climb the ladder and easily go up and over onto the roof.

Re; Little Giants. A couple of years ago I had mine set up in full exentsion in the "A" configuration on a concrete pad. High winds blew it over during the night and broke one of the knobs you use to set the ladder position. Called customer support the next day and explained what was broken. A couple of days later the replacement parts arrived in the mail, no charge... good customer service.

We had all three of the listed above at the sign shop. The warners were our favorite. But they are a damn handy ladder to have around. One ladder and you can do quite a few things with it.

Just came home from a Lowe's run ! I read the Home Depot ad incorrectly the 17 ' was 159.99 it was the 22 footer on sale for 129.00 ! So I asked customer service at Lowes if they would beat their competitor by 10 % as their ad and signs state. Sure thing saved another 12.90 so bought a 22 footer for 116.90 plus tax not bad at all. Yep it's got some weight but it will work fine for what I need it for. I'm a happy buyer

I have one and love it and it isn't particularly heavy. Had it maybe 15 years.

I have a long Werner also so I can get to places that span a 14 step stairway. I tested mine at Home Depot to make sure it was solid and did not bounce around, etc but it is great. The Home Depot guy said if it ever broke I can return it, no questions asked maybe after I get out of the hospital.....

I found mine laying in the weeds at a rental house we bought , It was a werner. I hauled it home to throw it away, but ended up using it a few times, and wow, has it been a useful tool. I use it as scaffolding, on stairs , to help paint, use it as a work bench etc. What a useful little tool .

I ended up with a couple of Werner's from the shop, but the only work they have done has been as a semi-permanent 4' high shelf

Little Giant had two big pluses for me, one it was the only folding type ladder I found that was made in America and two, that thing is rock solid. Friend brought a Gorilla ladder over once and man it was so cheap, you thought it was going to collapse on you. Ladders are dangerous enough that I want a sturdy one.

We have Little Giants on every one of our fire rigs. One of our heaviest used pieces of equipment. They are great.
