Is this too cheap?- UPDATE: maybe it ISN'T too cheap

This seems like an awfully good price. Too good?

I mean, that just seems like a sick deal.

Seams like a great deal to me....but its brown. And 63k is not not exactly spring chicken mileage. I can understand the price point.

I secretly like brown. A lot. The seats look suspiciously dirty, particularly driver's seat. The mileage is, I'm sure, partially to blame for the price. The good part is I don't put on squat (maybe 6-7k/yr). That said, this would be a daily driver for me.

Also, I thought this might be cool as from what I gather it is the last year of the Metzger, and also from what I hear that is a good thing in terms of reliability and longevity.

I'm just blown away that I could get a 2008 Turbo for that kind of money. That is a stupendous amount of car. I like that is is unmodified, with the exception of the stereo. If this is really not stupidly low, and is possibly a solid car, does anyone live near Corpus Christi and want to play detective for me? I can pay you in bourbon.

I love that car! Have it checked out and BUY IT!!!!

onewhippedpuppy 05-04-2015 03:30 AM

That is a very good price. Macademia Metallic isn't for everybody, but with a good polish and wax I think it is a stunning color. The Sand Beige leather will get that dirty look to it, a good leather cleaner will make it like new. That is exponentially more car than the 1Ms that you have been looking at, and I would trust a 997TT with 60k over a 1M with 10k.

Looks great to me! I'd hit up the driver's seat with Leatherique and it'd look good as new. The interior of our Volvo is that color and before we bought it wasn't cleaned for years but the cleaner took all the ingrained junk out of the leather and made it look like new.

onewhippedpuppy 05-04-2015 04:10 AM

Agreed on Leatherique, it's amazing stuff.

Wow, that really seems like a good deal! Personally - I LOVE the brown. But take that with a grain of salt because I hate silver and red....

I love the car. Mac brown doesn't digital photo well and looks better in real life. M/T, adaptive sports seat…I wish I'd seen it when I was looking. That car is a steal.

60K miles is nothing on these cars.

rammstein 05-04-2015 08:33 AM

One thing I didn't realize. Lsd was an option on these. I assume adding lsd on these cars is $$$. Right?

Thanks for fixing link. Didn't realize it wasn't working.

Yes, The 997 turbo 2007-2009 had an LSD option (code 220) for $950. It was only installed in about 25% of the cars.

rammstein 05-04-2015 09:07 AM

Looks like there is an aftermarket lsd option used by a lot of guys called Guard that sells units for ~2500, and you need to figure about 500 for install. So not the end of the world. I would definitely add it, as I would definitely be doing DEs and no lsd at de makes me sad.

So does anyone wanna look at this one? Any tips on a good PPI location in Corpus Cristi?

I like the brown, I can't speak to whether it is a good deal or not. It does look like the drivers seat is abnormally worn compared to the passenger seat, maybe it was a perpetually sweaty driver who stained it.

Awwww man. Now I am grossed out.

Sand Beige is a light color, and even light dirt tends to make it look bad. Shadows in photography can also make it look dirty. I've had several cars that started at least that bad, and after a leather cleaning looked like new.

ckelly78z 05-04-2015 10:06 AM

But did it SMELL like new ?

Now I need someone local to go find out...

onewhippedpuppy 05-04-2015 10:29 AM

At 6 years old and 60k miles? Nope, but good luck finding one that still does.

There are plenty of 911 Turbos on the market that smell new. They are $180k and your Porsche dealership would be happy to sell you one.:)

onewhippedpuppy 05-04-2015 10:33 AM

If you are serious about an inspection, just find a 3rd party inspection service in the area. Corpus Christi is close enough to Houston that I'm sure you can find someone. My neighbor just bought a Shelby Super Snake in Pittsburgh, he paid $250 for a very comprehensive inspection prior to his purchase and it was spot-on.
