Up here if you are piloting a drone you have to stay at least 150m from people, buildings, etc, and several kilometers away from airports and military installations. In some cases, depending on the size of the thing, you may have to file a flight plan. You also must keep it in sight at all times. If one of those was hovering around my kids or house windows it would have a set of bolo balls coming at it at a high rate of speed. "I was practicing and they got away from me"

Uhh...yes I do, at least up until navigable airspace - which is generally considered to be around 500 feet. So any drone above my property and under FL5 is trespassing.

Now, that doesn't necessarily give me the right to destroy it. But I would have zero legal concern about taking possession of it and disabling it until such time as the rightful owner comes to claim it.

Knee jerk reaction is get the pellet gun. But is it really over my house / pool?
Or is it the real estate agent for the neighbor, making a video? Hopefully they would let you know ahead of time though.

My gut still tells me if it is hovering over my area, and I have enough time to get my pellet gun, pump it up and use the "good" pellets, it was up to no good.

There's a pretty significant difference between the drones that GAs use and commercial stuff....and they usually stay at much higher altitudes so as not to alarm the people they're surveiling.
