153 mph in Michigan

I think in California the guy would lose the car and his license.
I am impressed with the car tho.

Michigan police clock speeder doing 153 mph in Dodge station wagon

This guy couldn’t drive 155 mph, but he almost did.

Around 3:00 AM Tuesday morning, Michigan State Police spotted a driver doing 79 mph in a 70 mph zone on I-75 near the Detroit suburb of Woodhaven and initiated a pursuit.

Seconds later the 2005 Dodge Magnum station wagon had accelerated to 153 mph, according to the police car’s moving radar system.

After travelling about 10 miles down the highway, the car exited and pulled into a parking lot behind a building where police apprehended him and charged him with reckless driving, WWJ-TV reports.

The 2005 Magnum was available with a 350 hp V8 engine, but came from the factory with a speed restrictor set at 130 mph and could reportedly reach just 143 mph without it, suggesting the car in this situation had been modified.

Police say the 21-year-old had a clean record and didn’t offer any explanation for his actions, but he now faces up to six points on his license and a maximum of 93 days in jail.

He did it in a wagon!

It could have been the SRT version with 425hp.

Perhaps California has a different points system, making six not seem like all that many.

Here's what the State of Michigan says it takes to earn six points ...

Manslaughter, negligent homicide, or other felony involving use of a motor vehicle.
Operating under the influence of liquor or drugs.
Failing to stop and give identification at the scene of a crash.
Reckless driving.
Unlawful bodily alcohol content of 0.08 or more.
Refusal to take a chemical test.
Fleeing or eluding a police officer.

Having his gonads set loose seems rather harsh.

3 AM, can't be much if any traffic on the road. Jail time? I don't think so.

I think the judge should throw the case out. Definitely a fabrication of evidence on the cop's part. The Dodge can only do 130mph.
