Hey Seahawk

Looks like you are finally going to be able to take it easy.
Navy retires the SH-60B Seahawk - CBS News 8 - San Diego, CA News Station - KFMB Channel 8

I was supposed to go out for the ceremony but my plans were derailed...

I was very fortunate to have been selected to fly 60B's right as the aircraft started to get into the fleet. I was a plank owner in the first 60B squadron and also flew the first H-60B, old Double Nuts, when I went through the FRS.

The 60B is gone but the 60R and 60S live on. I actually helped managed the development, test and procurement of both aircraft at one time in their early stages.

Great stuff and a lot of fun. The first picture below is me about to fire a Penguin Missile in the test range of Roosevelt Roads. We later shot the first warhead-equipped version at the target ship.

The second is a cruise photo.

Thanks for the memories, Rick!

Here all this time I thought you were just an odd football fan.

One of my old Navy buddies is still in, and the MMCPO for a H60 squadron.

MH-60S

I was the PM for all the initial design to first flight. I have a pic I'll have to post of the prototype.

Great pictures. Makes me proud.

Please tell the Master Chief how cool he is.

He knows...;)

He is currently on the Carl Vinson, on his way home to retire after 30 years. The Navy will be worse off for it.

My opinion, his birds have the best tail paint I have ever seen:

He had a det at NAS Fallon, about an hour from here, I went out with my son and he got to climb all over some helicopters. The really sad thing to me is I really don't think he had any idea how cool a thing that was to be able to do.
