Very cool. Mr.Cantaoi sounds like an awesome guy! I love vehicles of that era. Looking at that Ranchero, I never understood why the '57 Chevy was more popular than the '57 Ford.

Y block was a heavy lump that was dumped

Like Chevy's 'big' block 348 and then the later 409, Ford's 'Y' motor had a similar combustion chamber design........................in the piston. Both had cyl heads where the business side were virtually flat. Kinda like a diesel cyl head on the valve side. The actual 'chamber' was in the pistons. Very odd really, but both GM and Ford thought this was a great idea for larger displacement engines in the 50's. I do wonder who copied who then......................

Chrysler, on the other hand had already had the 'Hemi' in production, even though early motors were very small displacement was waaay ahead until Chevy's small block offering.

That is a very cool story but am I the only one that thinks that Von Dutch artwork is uuuuuggggglllllyyyyy?
Or is there something I'm not understanding?
