iPhone 6 no voicemail
I have an iPhone 6 plus on straighttalk/att. Just recently I have not been getting notified of voicemails and my vm icon does not work. At tech support has been no help. According to searches I have done many people are having this issue. Any ideas?

Should have got an android
Once you go Mac, you never go back.
I am having this issue as well. The carriers fix is to reset the VM from their end thereby losing any saved messages and your outgoing message. Very annoying. I may dump the phone and go android if it can't be fixed.
ST has reset my VM 3 times. It has not resolved the issue. I believe it is either an iOS issue with 8.3 or a recent upgrade to their network. MY ST phone is actually on AT&T's network.
This is not an iPhone or iOS issue. It is an issue on the carrier side.
How do you know that?
Yes, I have seen that. They won't admit they have a problem. And they have no solution yet.
If it were an Apple issue, the carrier would be pointing figures at Apple faster than you can say "Scheisse!"
Join that thread and get them to help you like they are helping the others. |
They are not helping anyone. Some people have been on a landline phone with tech support for over 5 hours. Just wasted time.
This is why StraightTalk is cheaper than AT&T. They don't have the support infrastructure in place to help customers when there are issues.
This is the first issue I have ever had and it is not terminal. I have been with ST for years. Eventually they will resolve it.

You pay for bad service, and you get bad service, and you're mad. PIBCAC.

I've called the telco to tell them "you're stuff is broke. My device is telling me via debugs that your stuff is broke." The response is pretty much always "It's not us, it's you. Check your stuff." Usually after about 3-5 times of calling them back, it starts working and but they won't admit there was an issue. I've even heard them put down the phone, but I could still hear them in the background, the following actually happened on the 4th call for the same issue in 2 days: "Our device is telling us that the problem is coming from your end. We've checked and double checked our device. Can you check the circuit again?" "We've checked it, there's no problem." "Are you sure, we're running an isdn q931 debug and getting error code...." To a coworker in the background "hey, what's this?" < mad typing noises >. Circuit starts working. They come back on the line and ask "how does it look now?" "It's great, it came up. What was the problem?" "What do you mean? We didn't do anything." |
This isn't an answer, but still kind of interesting maybe. I was curious about this problem you're having, so I searched iOS 8.3 voicemail, and found lots of reports of problems with visual voicemail after upgrading to that iOS release. Then I searched iOS 8.2 voicemail, and found . . . lots of reports of problems with visual voicemail after upgrading. Then I searched iOS 8.1 voicemail, and found . . . same thing. And so on. I conclude that there does not seem to be any big increase in voicemail problem caused by 8.3. In hundreds of millions of iOS users, some percentage will have vmail problems (and any other type of problem) at any given time, and will post about it.
Sorry I can't help w/ your problem. No vmail issues here, on 8.3. |
Happened the same to me..
The carrier (Rogers) deleted that service from the account, then re-added.. All good since.. (about a year and working fine so far) |
ATT
Wife has iPhone 6 no issues with voice mail. Now thats not to say she doesn't have endless issues with the phone but I can honestly say they are all " User Error " |
