Yeah, some years back. They sort of work, nothing short of stripping all fabrics from an interior will get rid of cigarette, cigar, and some other odors ( don't ask )..
They can be dangerous also, need to make sure car is locked and secure while ozone is running. Also found that on a really hot day with windows up, smells will re emerge..
Don't recall any brands, talk to a used car dealer if you happen to know one close by.

I was at wits end with my latest used car, couldn't get cigarette smell out myself. Detailer/Dealer got rid of odor in my car in one treatment. Said they used a machine (I assume ozone generator?) and coffee grounds.

It's been about a year, no more smell, and I've left car in hot sun multiple days on many occasions.

I kept an Eden Pure machine that came through the pawn shop. I've loaned it out more than I've used it, people said it did some good. I'm told it will kill living creatures if they are confined with it operating.

If you could ask the dealer, I would be much obliged!

Most ozone generators put out enough ozone to give you breathing problems (SMOG) before they will kill anything like odors or viruses.

In the '70s, Mechanics Illustrated Mag. published a diagram on how to make one. Some time later, they published a withdrawal of it on the basis it was a health hazard.
