Minnie Mouse, Hello Kitty Arrested in Another Times Square Mascot Brawl

Two of Times Square’s notorious costumed mascots have been charged with assault after a cat (and mouse) fight broke out Thursday afternoon between two women playing Minnie Mouse and Hello Kitty.

Sandra Mocha, 34 (Minnie) and Giovanna Melendez, 40 (Kitty) were cuffed at the scene around 3:30 p.m., the New York Daily News reports. They had allegedly been fighting over tips.

At this point, Times Square is basically an Octagon for costumed villains fighting to the death over who gets to grab tourists and make them pose for photos.

After a meeting between cops and characters last year, one police source claimed “The meeting was a waste of time. They were in their little costumes, [and] they didn’t give a s**t about what we had to say.”

:D Too funny.

Those people are really annoying. It was cute when one or two were out there, but the last time I was in NYC It was cold and heck and there were almost as many cartoon characters as tourists.

Guiliani never would have allowed that BS.

Get rid of them.

Las Vegas has become this too... more costumed characters than tourist... it was fun when it was just Elvis impersonators and showgirls... Now? Not so much :mad:

People just trying earn a living in the fast pace, stress filled, dog eat dog world of the costumed mascot trade.
