Euro License Plate ID help please
My 73.5 came with what looks to be a Euro License plate attached to it's front bumper. Wondering if it's real or fake.
Anyone have knowledge on the subject? Thanks! ![]() [

I believe it is German, with the S indicating Stuttgart. The upper stamp is the yearly registration which would tell the last year it would have been registered.

Plate is from Stuttgart.
Top sticker is the inspection sticker. It's round so it's a rear plate. Bottom sticker is a temporary registration. Full regi sticker would be from the state that issued it, EX: Stuttgart would have a Baden Wurttemberg sticker,

Here's several European plates I have on my garage wall. I know the "S" ones came off 911 that was European delivery. The oval "international" plate has the same sticker as yours.--Dave

Thanks for all the input and pictures. Guess I'll hang it on the wall in the garage after all.

The upper shows the timespan for the MOT test (= TÜV)
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hauptuntersuchung Until End of 2009 it was also nessecary to have an emission-sticker: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abgasuntersuchung but that one looked slightly different. S is for Stuttgart, but today it is possible to take the licenseplate with you when moving around in the country. So you can live in Hamburg and still have S on the licenseplate (new stupid rule!). The lower sticker is about the tax https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finanzverwaltung_(Deutschland) Last edited by Holger; 06-08-2015 at 04:13 AM.. |
