VW Jetta > Ute conversion

This is brilliant. Take a 99 - 04 Jetta 4 door, lop off half the roof, bolt on some parts, paint and instant small Ute. TDI gets you about 40MPG. This is the guy the built Factory Five. The kit is $3500.

I'm going to guess that you've never worked on a Mk4 Jetta.

That is cool.
7+ foot bed with the tailgate down to carry 4x8 sheet boards. 40+mpg.

Find any picture of any 1980s Toyota PU parked next to a giant 2015 Toyota PU.
The little guy does it all better.

Air suspension rear would help to compensate for heavy loads. Also, you can install a combination of Passat struts and springs to lift a jetta or golf. You could technically build a "off-road" looking version of this.

They desperately need a proofreader for their website. It just cheapens my perception of the whole operation and would be so easy to fix.

"you are going to bolt in a few support"
"no messing with the engion"- ugh
"when i fill"
"Aluminum inner structural bed sides Aluminum " - so you're telling us the aluminum is made from Aluminum?

They should fix their website and make it more professional all around, because their product seems pretty frickin awesome. A TDI pickup would have a lot of takers.

Agreed and their website really sucks. Not enough meat there. But the idea is cool.

I have done business with Mark Smith back when he was with Factory Five. I found him to be honest to deal with and insanely passionate about his products. He and his brother had a disagreement about Factory Five company direction and split without tearing apart the company in a lengthy battle.
