Known fact: people that are caught in criminal behavior will become beligerant or confrontational in an attempt to get the other person to back down rather than make a scene. Happens all the time with shop-lifters or people wanting to pass a bad check at a store.

She challenged his authority and that cannot be allowed because once that happens she will keep pushing. The BP agent was correct in controlling this woman before she escalated the situation.

Everyone wants to bash police as being on a power trip but they have to control the situation. If you think you can do a better job then fill out an application.

She was extremely calm. She reasonably argued against unlawful search. Then the officer decided he'd had enough and escalated the situation without reason. The officer should be charged with illegal detention and assault.

Sometimes it's takes a hard ass to stand up for our rights, but I'm grateful that they have the courage to take a stand. Maybe Rosa Parks was a stubborn *****. We need more of that. Big brother wants your email and texts and sometimes big brother wants to look in your trunk. Big brother doesn't want to bother with a warrant.

Anyone who claims that she assaulted or pushed him based on that video, (which absolutely showed nothing of the kind), is someone I hope I never meet. It seems that the question of detention should have been settled BEFORE she pulled over. Give an inch, and they'll take a mile.

Although the officer should have shown restraint, where's the incentive for him to do so? It's the taxpayer that will be paying for the lawsuit that SHE cleverly set him up for, and he'll continue to operate as per his training.
