Dad had a Lazer II.
Small lake. Gusty winds or usually nothing.

I'd set the jib, go full heel, and drag the end of the main boom in the water.
I abused the heck out of that little boat. Sorry dad.
It got uprighted on a regular basis.
Hook a foot or two. Lean back over the hull. Dip the head in the waves at the same time.
