bathrooms for vegas buffet, why are they so far away?

I just came back from Vegas. Damn buffets aren't exactly cheap anymore. They are pushing 50 bucks. My wife and I decided that we can't go to Vegas without a buffet. We ate at Cesar's and I needed to pee after 20 glasses of free orange juice. I always knew the bathrooms are outside of the restaurant, but why? Every restaurant I have been to have a restroom inside, but why bathrooms are never within the buffet restaurants in these Vegas buffets? The only thing I can think of is when one is running to the restrooms, they have to past through the slots and Black Jacks tables so they are more then likely leave another few 20 there at the tables before they get to the restrooms. What a PITA that is. Is there any other reasons other then the one I mention above?

U shoulda talked to TABS about the Buffet's in LV. There are better Buffets for a lot less than 50 a head. There is the "M" which is down the 15 about 1/2 way to Baker or so it seems. If you get there before 2:30 PM you get Lunch price of 17.99 with tax and at 2:30 they put out the Dinner menu. They serve Wine and Beer as part of the eats, and at the end ifn U want a Latte with a shot of Bailys Irish Cream then you get it as well. The food is as good as you are gona get in LV.

The other place is the Bellagio and ifn you get there before 4:00 PM the same deal of paying for Lunch and getting the Dinner eats for 22.99. They are good from soup to nuts. The Dinner menu includes King Crab already split so all youse has to do is pick it out with your fork.

Then there is the Orleans which has a Friday Sea Food Buffet for about 26.00. this is a bit down scale from the aforementioned buffets but is good. I likey their Beef Ribs ummmmm... they are on to the Lunch for Dinner price scamola so they close the Lunch down at 3:30 and reopen for Dinner at 4:00 PM.

The Red Rock Resort at Charleston and the 215 Beltway is another good workman like Buffet for 15.99 for Dinner. They are part of the Station Casinos which cater to Locals. The food ain't no haute cuisine but it is good. The decor at the RR is as nice in my opinion as the Wynn on the Strip.

The RIO on Flamingo is about 32,00 for Dinner but has more variety on the bill of fair than just about any two other Buffets combined. And it is quiet good.

I look at the LV Strip as just so much BS in a town full of BS. The idear is to get the fk off the Strip as it is all geared to separating youse from your dinero...U get far more value away. For example I have eaten at the Mandalay Bay Buffet which is fairly expensive and isn't any better than the RR or Orleans and is not as good as the M.

My MO when I hit the Buffet line is to get a heaping plate of Salad, it is the prime reason why I go in that with all the extra stuff U can put on the salad like Mushrooms, Olives Garbanzo Beans, Peas, Cheese, etc it would be prohibitive if you did it at home. Then I go back for a 2ND plate of Dinner entrees, but here the idear is to only have a coupla of small portions where you can still see a lot of white plate. then maybe I will go back for a bit of something I have missed, but still the operative thing is to be able to see a lot of white plate. Then I will go back for a coupla deserts and maybe some fruit. The idea is NOT to load up on the Mac and Cheese, Bread, Rice, Pasta or Potato as those are all cheap filler items that fill ya up. Stick to the BEEF and other assorted meaty type things.

The axiom is that we eat because we are hungry and at some point we are full enough and then anything more is because we are eating for eating sake. The trick in a Buffet is not to go too far over that line...

In that case, skip the ****ing salad plate altogether.

I just stayed at the Orleans for few days. It wasn't bad at all, $40 a night while my buddy spent somewhere near $300 per at the Venetian. The Orleans has a free shuttle to the strip so we just met up that way. Beers on the strip were $8, only $3 at the Orleans. Overall I didn't care for the strip. Seemed like a novelty. One time through is really enough.

I had the most fun at Frankie's Tiki bar, which is wayyyy off the strip.

This times 10,000! The off strip hotels kick arsh...

Palace Station is also pretty nice.

However the Palms is really, really, nice... we booked a show (Journey) hotel package... and now I'm getting discount offers in my email box... the rooms are super premium and the place is reasonably new so (last year when we went) everything was shiny and new.
Good food and the buffet was reasonably riced IIRC.

Is it true they pump oxygen into the casinos late at nite to keep people gambling a little longer?

I think you nailed it on you first post... Vegas has always been about getting you to spend maximum time in the casino. To get anywhere on the property you have to cut through the casino. I was somewhat chagrined that I had to stroll through the casino in my wet bathing suit transitioning from the pool to my room, in true Vegas fashion no one batted an eye.

No clocks, no windows, they will bring you food and drink to the gaming tables, the bathrooms are... wait for it... all surrounding the casino! So when you do absolutely HAVE to go you can make a potty and get back to loosing you money ASAP.

Are you serious? We went to the Palace Station to watch a fight with John Starks a few years ago. Granted, I never saw the rooms, but let's just say I was glad to go back to the MGM Grand...

After a panicked run through room after room of noisy blinking machines...need to pee now...where...I would no longer want to go back and gamble.
