I was having a discussion the other day about Rachel Dolezal, the white girl who "identifies" as black. Bruce - AKA Caitlan - Jenner entered the conversation and the person I was discussing this with said that this was different. I don't understand how identifying with being black is any different than identifying with a gender other than what your genetics gave you. To me it's the same thing. So if people are willing to accept that a man can identify as being a woman, surgically alter their appearance, and have their gender legally changed, why can't a white(black, brown, whatever) person identify as another race, alter appearance and have their race legally changed. If you accept one, then logically you have to accept the other, correct?

She can, but the rub comes when she only starts telling everyone she identifies as black when it comes out she lied about it in the past.

Same thing would have happened to Bruce Jenner if he tried to enter the Olympics as a woman and got caught, then tries to say its because he identifies being a woman.

All of it is a bit much... whats next? Saying I'm a MIT ngineering graduate when it turns out I only "identify" as being a graduate?
