question on tiles' grout
I am done with tiles on my new shower, and now getting ready to grout.
In the past, I have grout tiles for room and patio twice, using non-sanded grout from home depot. This time, I did some searches and asked questions. So far, I narrow down to either Mapie flexcolor CQ or Fusion pro, but can't choose which. The info I got is that Fusion Pro can be a little harder to do, before you figure out the way to handle it. Anyone experience both, installing and using, can give me some suggestions? Durability, advantages and disadvantages? Thanks. |
I've used Maipei both inside and outside with no problems. Used the Grout Maximizer additive with it. Outside tiles are in their 6th year, exposed to NYC winters and heat, no cracks or lifting. This recoomendation was from a tileman that does very high end and excellent work.

May I ask couple more questions?...
Have you used it in shower? What does grout maximizer do? Thanks Mike. |
From the Maipei site
"Grout Maximizer is a premium latex-based additive for mixing with Keracolor™ S or Keracolor U Portland-cement-based grout to increase resistance to water, dirt and oil-based stains". I used it outside on a cement terrace. As I stated above, 6 years and the grout still looks like new. Go on to the Maipei site. There are videos of shower installs. Good Luck |
Thanks Mike
