Good entertaining racing
Going on right now: Sportscars in the rain (Watkins Glen) Nascar at Sonoma. Both good races.

..and IndyCar at Fontana. Those nut cases were 2 inches away - wheel-to-wheel - at 233 mph. Will Power said it right, when he said it's just a matter of time before we have another Las Vegas (Dan Weldon) incident. That sentiment was pretty much echoed among all the drivers interviewed post race.
Watkins Glen was cool for a while - rain under yellow is like watching freeway traffic with their wipers on. Also, who thought up those new colors for the signature curbing? Bill K |

I read 5,000. Wonder how a series can survive with those kinds of numbers. People obviously aren't interested.

The camera crews made a good job of showing as little of the stands as they could.
FWIW, there was almost as many spectators at the cart racing going on in the parking lot. Bill K |
Outside of the accidents at Fontana, the racing was good. Lead changes everywhere and a celebratory lawn-dart finish from Ryan Briscoe. Seeing Briscoe walk away from that crash proves how safety has improved at IndyCar.
Seems to be good racing everywhere this year. V8 Supercars in Australia (CBS Sports) has some good racing. I have found BTTC (on CBS Sports) to be pretty entertaining again as well. Pirelli World Challenge and Blancpain GT series always seem to put on a good show. |
I won't call Fontana "good racing". Everyone has thier foot flat to the floor all the way around the track. That is just holding on.

Was at the Glen - great racing despite (because?) of the rain. Major kudos to the teams and drivers.
