Family of road rage victim speaks out

Heard about this - not sure if any one in Houston knows this Porsche owner who was a victim of alleged road rage.

Road rage shootings are getting to be an all to common occurrence here in the Houston area.. accidentally cut someone off or honk at the wrong person ? not a good move at all these days.

Houston is a big place. The odds of knowing someone in the news are pretty slim.

Don't get out of your vehicle and approach another because someone called you a name or cut you off.

I know its a long shot...thought maybe someone knew him. Sounds like there was more to the story.

I don't know why it is so sad. He wanted to be a tough guy, and throw some fists. He picked the wrong guy to fvk with.

I would have to disagree in this case. All the other driver really needed to do was drive away. Although walking up to someone's car is indeed not wise (even after the reported racial slur)...you would expect that the shooter need to be in some fear for their life/injury. It does not seem to me that this meets that test in any way. Seems like the new X6 could have avoided the guy walking outside his old Cayenne pretty easily.

Yup - stupidity should not be rewarded with death. He had no business going up to that guy but the M6 could have driven away. I know I have in a few instances when things were sketchy. Yes I could have drawn down but I wasn't in what I would have considered peril. If there is an out, take it regardless - its less paperwork...

Muslims are very peaceful as we all know from current world history....

Born and raised in Houston. 54 years old. Oilfield sales for a living so I spend all day on the streets of Houston every day. NEVER seen all this shooting that is supposedly taking place. Common place? come on. Lets blow things out of proportion. I never feel unsafe driving on Houston streets from getting shot. Maybe in a wreck but not shot. Just don't be stupid. If some gang banger tries to car jack me though, I will be prepared.

Just for the record for those who have never been here Houston is not filled with a bunch of rednecks. I wish it still was. Ever since the boom in the 80's I hardly ever actually meet someone who was born and raised here! it's an international city filled with people from everywhere! If you want to eat great food from just about anywhere we have it. I just wanted to throw out the sterotypes. Unfortuneitly very few people wear boots and hats unless they are going out to a club. Times change.

A shot in the face should have been a good clean kill. The chances are he had belief and trust in a 9mm as they seem to be so popular these days. He should have used a .45.

I spends lots o time in Houston and yes, the restaurants are the best in the country! Sushi, Indian, Thai, Conventional and even the trendy fair. I am never disappointed in Houston. Ever.

This type of attitude resulted in the death of an American citizen with a family. Amongst civilized people racial insults do not happen, an angry encounter ends with hurt feelings not death, people don't carry around guns. Your kind are a dying breed and are being replaced by the type of person humanity can be proud of.

And to the civilized and honorable people out there, don't unnecessarily expose yourself to situations where these type of people can harm you.
