Do you wear sandals?

Didn't want to hijack Vash 'flip-flop' thread.

I would like to get some sandals but bejebus you guys are blowing $75-$100 on sandals?!?

I like the Vibram five fingers but for one thing my toes are not uniform so not sure they would work for me.

Is there such a thing as a reasonably price sandal... or is this the old "you get what you pay for"?

The only ones that I wear: Teva Dozer

Comfy, waterproof, they provide pretty good toe protection, and they are a really cool looking shoe .....not like those girly flip-flops!

My wife bought me a pair of those. I wore them twice. I still like the flip flops due to the fact that I don't have to bend down to hook the strap behind my ankle. I *****ed about the cost of my Columbia or what ever name brand they are. My wife is right, she's always right. These damn things lasted a long time. Whereas, cheaper ones would have fallen apart years ago. They wear like iron.

I didn't go through Vash's thread so maybe someone mentioned these, they seem to be a big seller in SoCal.

Super comfortable contoured footbed. These sandals are what Tevas wanted to be when they grow up...

I got Teva's in Hawaii about 8 years ago best investment I've made, they've been in more oceans, rivers and lakes than I can count. Very sturdy, have had zero quality issues with them.

I have been wearing a pair of Keens for about a month now and and finding them to be a great pair. Same sole as my Keen steel-toe work boots. And I will wear a pair of SmartWool thin socks with them when it is cooler outside, like last week at Watkins Glen.

Sometimes. A pair I've had a long time. Leather with the sole made out of a tire.

Pretty good side grip in the twisty bits, too. Not so good during braking or in the wet.

I wear these. I always had solid footwear, but now these have replaced my summer shoes for almost every physically demanding activity or casual wear. I've had mine for 5 years and been around the world with them. play in the ocean, work in my garage, you name it. They even have a version that has a built in cycle clip for road or mountain biking.

and they are safety rated with a yellow triangle

"Light industrial work environments that need both puncture and toe protection."

No replacement for construction boots but close enough for me, and solid enough on my feet that I can push a car if I have to.

ITs all my wife's fault for buying these
now I never take them off (no socks)

I have Nike ACG sandals that are sadly NLA. Works fine. Fits nicely. Dries quickly. I think I paid 30 bucks 8 years ago. I only wear them to the beach or running errands on a hot day.

If I was going to wear those, I'd probably just wear shoes. I've had a few pairs of Tevas. The last pair of sandals that I had were Timberlands that I got on sale or clearance for $25-30. They were much more comfortable than the Tevas. These or something very similar.

I like this style for exactly the reason that some of the folks posted in the flip-flops thread, because of the heel strap, you can run in them if you need to without worrying about them falling off. They provide 95% of the functionality of a shoe while being cooler and more comfortable.
