Our Aussie Friends

been looking at the BBC to discover that you are experiencing some snow and cold weather. How is everyone coping?

Looks like all is bloody good!

South-east Australia has shivered through some of its coldest weather in decades, thanks to an icy cold snap.

Strong winds and snowfall hit Victoria, New South Wales (NSW), and even the "Sunshine state" Queensland saw snow.

Ipswich councillor Paul Tully drove three hours across the border so his son could see snow for the first time.

"We got up at 2.30am in the morning because there'd been a number of false starts in the past to take him to see his first snow," Mr Tully told the BBC.

First pic is a ski resort, it's mid winter that side of the world, is snow really that big of a surprise?
I realize it's odd happening in the lowlands, but at a ski hill?

That would be like snow in Buenos Aires or in Santiago, Chile.

Hey, thanks for the thoughts.

Some of the coldest whether we've ever had here....

Brisbane only had a top temp of 19 C (66 F) yesterday, dropped to 6 C (43 F) over night.........6 C !!!!.........we huddled together, burnt furniture and managed to survive the night.

lol...

We're having a proper Winter. Last year was mild in comparison. It's all been a bit weird lately.
We even had a light dusting at Mount Lofty. Not unheard of but that's very rare.

It snowed at our house two years ago. We got about 1/2 inches (about 10-12 millimeters for those of you in OZ). People couldn't drive in the snow. But 1st snow in 20 or so years.

I think the biggest rain storm I've encountered in a long while was in Brisbane last July. It was raining buckets sideways.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1436849143.jpg

Yeah, it's cold - but not really that bad. Currently where I am (Melbourne suburbs), it's 5.8ºC (42ºF) at 5:30pm, which feels like ~3.0ºC (37ºF). We've had a few freezing temps, but this is a bit of a beatup - I remember weather being this cold when I was younger. The air feels like it's coming right off the Antarctic, though.

Your welcome to come to NW Ohio in about 6 months to see what Winter is all about....a constant 20 mph wind with blowing and drifting snow and (to put it into terms you can understand) low temps of -26C and high temps of -17C. We saw those temps on and off for 3 months this last Winter.......argghhh.
