What am I missing on Reddit
 

My kids know how much I enjoy PP and have often suggested I would like Reddit. There are so many sub-reddits - what would the average 51 year old American guy like the most on Reddit?

Or, what are your favorite five?

I've squandered some serious time there playing "photoshop battles"
It really honed my photoshop skills to the point where I can blow most of the 13 year old kids I am competing against out of the water with cheesy 10 minute renderings of kianu reeves and whatnot. I usually don't win, and that's because I the angles I take are played from an age group that isn't wasting much time on photoshop battles :).
It was hard to get a feel for the layout, because it is soooo basic and cheap- but it works, AND it let me hone my chops on quick turnaround times for photoshop entries, however, there seems to be an endless base for discussion groups, but the limited comments I've seen that have spilled into the photoshop section seem to be in line with "yahoo" user comments, so who knows....
I'm sure you can find some quality discussion there, and I'm sure it's there, but I haven't really i found it yet.

The search feature works really well, biggest problem is that they give you so many choices you'll need to try it a few times to get good. It does show a list of subreddits so you can narrow things down, then sort the results by "new" to get the most recent stuff. You'll learn how.

One great reason to use it is for FREE live streaming of races. Search for the series and race ("indycar iowa"), sort the results by 'new', and open the 'Race Thread'. There will usually be a YouTube link to a free stream in one of the first few posts. I watched the last two NASCAR races, last weekend's Indycar race, and the NHL Final series in seamless 1080p.

Oh yeah, get yourself a Chromecast if you haven't already.
