Strange car, what is this?
 

I saw this thing in Dana Point this morning, special Calif plates, I thought it had the look of a large Mini but I haven't seen anything about a LARGE Mini coming out.

Mini is coming out with an SUV. It was covered on Fast Lane Daily this week.

Mini Clubman I think (split rear doors/dual rear wipers)

It looks a lot like a Mini Clubman. Do a google image search for "spy shot mini clubman" and see if it is not the exact same "dazzle paint job." Tail lights are weird though.

I saw one of those on the autobahn back in June.

That's because you can't see the actual tail lights. I suspect the tail lights are up high, but they have warts stuck to the extreme ends of the rear bumper (look at the far left end) that have extra tail lights. Just another way to extra camouflage the car.

That is the "camo" that Mini is using on their test cars.

To bad they can't camouflage the fact that Mini's are crap.

Too bad you didn't get a good look at the wheels, might have been a logo on the center cap.

I looked at the wheels, we were at a light, I had time, but I didn't see anything I recognized. I just thought it looked like a stretched Mini.

Fiat has a SUV now too but it doesn't look like the one in the commercials.

Obviously a new four door Clubman at least to my eyes. They already have the four door HT and the Countryman has bulged fenders.

Planned obsolescence. Truly awful build quality.

How long are they going to keep calling them "Minis"?

Maybe they should just start calling them "Maxis."

You can't polish a turd, and that thing looks like crap, no matter how you try to camouflage it.
