American media reaches maxium asshattery

Once in a while, the American media comes up with a gem of fuchtardic idiocy that transcends the normal boundaries of time and space. Its as if Plato's world of shapes has dropped one of its perfect forms to earth, and that shape is, "Blathering mental spooge".

I give you, the 'Cecil the lion meets Michael Brown special' report.

Fury over Cecil the lion also sparks race conversation

I mean.....*sputter*....it makes perfect sense! That Bland woman was African-ish, and the liberal media has decided she was murdered by a white guy....and the lion, I mean, he is BIG TIME African, and HE was murdered by a white guy, so I mean....just connect the dots people!

Outrage over anything is epidemic in this society today.
A culture of poosies.

I had to look up sandra bland again.
Then I placed it in the short-term memory file with the last traffic sign.

The American psyche has slowly been reduced to whatever is baited and wiggling in front of them.

Oh that really boils my blood. The whole sandra bland comments. yada yada wrongful death lawsuit. You're gonna settle out of court for a ton of money. Get over it. So many people die in the prison system every year. It does not discriminate between white, black, mexican, asian.

Are you talking about the outrage expressed in this thread or in society in general? Or both?

I've had it with TV "wars." Everything has to be a conflict. Cooking wars? Car restoration wars? Are you kidding me?

I've had it with people being offended. Taking offense is a choice, but some people seem to make it their hobby. They are constantly on the lookout for something to be offended about.

And yes, constant outrage. Being pissed off seems to have become our national emotion. No wonder there is so much violence in this country.

You want to end mass killings, murder, and mayhem? Stop flooding the media with conflict, stop characterizing every competition as a "war" and start teaching people how to take a breath and move on. Every little thing in life doesn't have to be turned into a death match.

This...agreed.
If they're offended then perhaps they're a victim...and if so, of what?
.
From a psychological POV (I was a co-director of a crisis center a hundred yrs. ago), I was involved in "co-counseling", and when a drop-in had an uncomfortable inner experience their natural tendency was to insist that someone (others) alter their speech and/or behavior so as to alleviate that uncomfortable inner experience.
We had to teach them to look inside and learn to be with their feelings, resolve their primal issues, and reach some kind of inner peace. We attempted to guide them to their maturity.
Similar to what we see in society now.
Various groups want to control the rest of us so that they feel better.
Abject irresponsibility...and rampant today.
That's what I meant.

What really disturbs me about the Sandra Bland case is the media hasn't bothered to do basic research on what the DA said about her THC level. 18ng/ml isn't even considered a positive test for many employment tests. 50 ng/ml is more common. So the chances of her consuming even the day she was pulled over is suspect, but the media just goes along with what the so called experts tell them without confirming.

The worst part of this event is that the lion was not killed, but wounded. He suffered for 40 hours before being put out of his misery. That is what I have a problem with. Different cultures have different thoughts on different issues - like the dolphin slaying in Japan. I disagree with killing lions and dolphins, but at least make it quick. This dentist is a loser. If he had the brains to become a doctor at some point I am assuming he has experienced a serious head trauma since that time.
