Interesting 991 story...
I stumbled across the video link (1) below after reading the presenter's (Nick Murray) interview with the owner of a modified 1979 930 (second link - 24 minutes....).
I did a search for "Nick Murray", nothing, so thought I would post it (my first in this sub-forum) - hopefully not redundant... A comment on the power of social media? (1) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eXUnZrykDY (2) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nLO4gfwpqE |
I saw some of his prior videos about the 991, glad that PCNA finally gave him his money back. Talk about an epic customer relations failure on their part. The internet has made screwing over customers a much more difficult task.

I saw the first video before I bought my 991. There's probably the occasional lemon with every manufacturer but he really got a bad one and does cause a bit of a concern before taking the plunge.
I bought a 2013 so hopefully any issues have been addressed. I made sure to get a CPO car tho so I have 4 years of warranty if needed. I've only had it a couple of months but so far it's a great car. I had a 87 911 prior and there's no comparison. Also, the 991 is the last of the flat six cars before Porsche goes to the all turbo (2.8L?) motor. Hopefully at some point a 991 with manual transmission will be as desirable as a G50 911 is today. |

Any car company can make a lemon. Its how they manage it for the customer that makes all the difference. |
I've had no problems.
