Monitors Landscape Or Portrait?
Seeing up a home office. Dual 27" monitors on a single post / two arm mount. I have the option of rotating the monitors.
Who here uses their monitors in portrait orientation (vertical) instead of the typical landscape orientation (horizontal)? Why? |

Really depends on what I'm doing and the orientation of my media. 99.9% of the time they are landscape. |
I cheaped out with 1980x1080 monitors. Not enough res to have two windows side by side on each monitor. But methinks that with vertical orientation, I could have two windows above and below on each monitor. For four windows at once. My apps are just business apps, don't need lots of pixels. The Macbook Pro is happily driving two external displays, plus the laptop display which would be a fifth window.

usually in portrait mode you get worse viewability - it's an LCD angle sensitivity thing.
The 2560x1440 monitors are under $400, some under $300, so... |
I know, I know, penny wise and pound foolish.

one each way.
