Oh by the way ......

Wholesale gasoline price in PADD 5 (So Cal) has jumped about 67 cents in the past 48 hours to about $2.70.

That is HUGE!

U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA)

Can't comment on why just yet.

Refinery problem sends gasoline prices soaring in upper Midwest

It's down to $2.04 for reg unleaded here in Charleston. I was hoping it would keep going down for awhile.

Oh Haha 08-12-2015 05:27 PM

60 cent increase since Sunday here in Michigan.

fred cook 08-12-2015 06:16 PM

Can buy regular for $2.21 per gallon here in South Georgia. Diesel is about $2.45 or so.

dafischer 08-12-2015 06:19 PM

Actually saw Diesel for less than regular per gallon here in NJ today.

ckelly78z 08-13-2015 03:10 AM

Yea, on Monday i noted that the price of reg 87 octane gas was $2.19, and was dumbfounded when I got gas yesterday in the company car at $2.59..........well, suffice it to say, I was just pissed off this morning on my way to work to see the gas price had gone up ANOTHER 30 cents to $2.89, while the diesel price remained at $2.38.

What gives ? was there a refinery explosion overnight ?

yellowperil 08-13-2015 03:56 AM

You're lucky, up here (eastern Canada) $5.44/gal

kach22i 08-13-2015 04:14 AM

OK I'll bite.Who is "they"?

I know you are not refering to the oil companies because we all know THEY don't set the price.
If THEY could set the price it would be around $20 a gallon.
Just like if the distributors and retailers set the wholesale price it would cost a nickel.

The MARKET sets the price, just like on e-bay.

widebody911 08-13-2015 07:11 AM

...and here we go again...

gacook 08-13-2015 01:20 PM

Gas has dropped about .30 here in the past week. We're at $2.45/gallon.

Christien 08-13-2015 05:22 PM

Interesting, just noticed gas here was down overnight about 5c/l to $1.06. Multiply by 3.8, x 1.3 for exchange = about 5.23/ gallon.

And you were complaining about what exactly? ;)

Oh Haha 08-13-2015 05:34 PM

Our local news is reporting that the increase is due to maintenance at an Indiana refinery.

Another mass rush to get rid of the new loaded DD oversize pickup truck.
Flight of the Lemmings.

I suspect these will become plentiful and inexpensive in the near future.
There will be turnover.

Wait----the wholesale price of gasoline was around $2 a gallon until 48 hours ago but around $4 a gallon @ pump?? How is that possible?

CALIFORNIA TAXES....I can't believe you asked that, it would suggest that your mental capacity is rather limited? BTW I am being respectful of your sensibilities here, I could have put it much more starkly.

That's ok, I'll put it starkly for you: There are not $2.00 in taxes on a gallon of gas in CA., dipschit. :)
