I got hit by a car!

I am bruised but not broken. I still can't believe I got hit. I don't want to go into alot of detail until this is settled but I was in a marked crosswalk, halfway across the street when I was hit. I was taken to the hospital by ambulance so I didn't get any details and am awaiting the police report.

Any advice?

I was walking across the street. The driver stopped about a half block away. It was during a car show and police were right there. I was told that she was ticketed. I dont know about CCTV.

Hitting a pedestrian in a crosswalk in NJ is as big a no-no as exists in traffic law. I'm on LBI now and it's just insane with the signs and clueless pedestrians.

These days I laugh about others with these dumb phones. Like a bunch of zombies aimless roaming the streets. They don't pay attention to their surroundings. The crazy ones are on the bicycles!

Get a lawyer. Don't sign any "release of liability" from the insurance companies. You could experience health problems years afterwards.

Wow, dig this. NJ is a no-fault state so I must pay my car insurance deductible towards the hospital bill and try to recover it from the driver that hit me. No different than health insurance but dang I'm the one that got run down!
