Why not just use a short windshield, like in the old days. Ala 550 Spyder.

Short chunk of thick plex would do more good than that cage thing. That has to mess with the view, and it's going to be useless to stop a car part, such as a coilspring, from smacking the driver in the face.

I just wonder what that thing or a full windshield would have done in the Jules Bianchi crash. Likely not a thing to save him.

I don't know that even in a closed cockpit car with a full cage Jules would have survived. It's a wonder he wasn't killed on impact. Look how often people are killed by running under the back of a truck just at highway speeds.

I think they looked at that, and found it deflected too much (did I read that in this thread?)
