The specs are amazing on this new Sport model from Yamaha.
3 cylinder 1000cc 5 speed stick with electric shift and clutch pedal 16" front and 17" rear suspension travel via 3" dia FOX shocks. Power Steering. 2 or 4 wheel drive with locking diffs. the list goes on and on. THANK YOU YAMAHA! ![]() NEW 2016 Yamaha YXZ1000R from UTVUnderground.com For Yamaha fit and finish, and only $19,999 you're getting a hell of a lot of machine that will really bite into Polaris RZRs and Artic Cats that only have a sluggish CVT belt drive. The YXZ1000 was just officially announced yesterday, supposed to be on dealer floors in a couple months. ![]() 2016 Yamaha YXZ1000R

Yamaha has had that engine in Snowmobiles for several years.....Compared to the weight and power of a 2-stroke engine, most refer to it as a "Turd".........

Those last two examples are no where near the suspension travel of 16"F and 17" rear on the Yamaha.
also power to weight ration, the YXZ is 112 hp, to a 1500 pound wet chassis. Redline is 10,500. Long travel suspension is where it's at. I rode once in a $70K Tatum sand rail with 24/26" suspension travel and a Navistar V8, feeding twin headers with supertrapps on them. It shook the ground from 100' away just while idling. The Yamaha at 20K is a steal for the package. compared to the $60-70K+ Insane Tatum Cars: Tatum Motor Sports

I still bet this thing is tons of fun. I love blasting up 4wd trails in a RZR this looks like even more fun. |
