Tell me about the Buell firebolt xb9.

Looks like I own one. Customer ran upon hard times, and wants to give it to me for payment. I've rode them in the past. Kind of cool. I am probably just going to flip it, as I am really looking for a dual sport.
Anybody wanna make a trade?
It should be here within the hour, I grab up a few pics.
I just may have to ride it around for a little bit .

I took one for a test ride, once. Neat little bike, with the emphasis on "little". I'm still kinda sad that I never bought one before Buell went tits up.

Nice bikes. Fuel in the frame, oil in the swing arm. Once they've dropped frame bends very easily. They are running a evo type Harley Davidson engine. Now the bad, they will spin a rod bearing at around 30k. They all do it. They're very easy to work on though, and parts are still available, but mostly online. As most dealers have dropped service/parts on them. The transparent fairings bikes are worth more as well.

Keep rubber side down.

Here's mine. Buells have lots of low end torque and are a hoot to ride around town. They get lots of attention and everyone thinks they are some sort of exotic, expensive sport bike.
The have a unique following, most Harley guys don't like them because they consider it a sport bike and most sport bike guys don't like it because the consider it a Harley.
This one is a 1999 X1, also referred to as a "Tuber" because of the tube frame. Not as advanced or refined as the XB9.
This one has a few modifications as well, custom short seat/tail, dual led headlights, low rise bars, aftermarket intake, and a few other items..

Tennessee but that's beside the point. Low sales numbers combined with production that ended a few years ago - the average Joe has no idea what a Buell is.

Ok. Living in the homeland of H-D, I've become jaded.

Around here, ya can't swing a dead cat without knocking one over! I live in a tiny town and there must be 3 or 4 Buell's running around...plus about a hundred H-D's. This weekend is the local mini Sturgis in Tomahawk. Lots of alcohol and MCs...what could go wrong?

Cmon now, I am not a MC guy and I know what a Buell is!

On a separate note, that firebolt looks like you better are <6'.

I test rode one once. Quick handling chassis. But the motor is what kept it from being a real sport(y) bike. It came into its own from around 5-7 rpm. Below that it was like driving one of the cars at Autopia. And then, just when the fun was getting started, the powerband died.
