Is there a way to block someones posts?

I remember someone posting about blocking someone's posts but I can't find any reference to it.

With the "no you are a poopy head, no you are" posts ruining some threads I'd really like to not see or get notified of some peoples crap. If I was a admin there would be a lot of people on ban island.

Ha....found it. Now I hope it works as well as I hope.

Isn't there a way to list members you wish to block on your control panel? Look at your CP, on the column on the left is a tab for an Ignore List.

Yes a whole lot of PARFishness drifting into OT these days.
Sad to watch the demise of a favorite site, notice the reduced number of participants .
Lots of good folks and fun contributors have moved on.

Cheers Richard

I think you are wanting to add them to your ignore list. You can put anyone on the ignore list and never see anything they post again.

I have never messed with it. There are several members that are 100% useless wastes of electrons. I just scroll past those and go to the next post.

A certain responder in the technical AC threads is a perfect example. 99% of his posts just stupid guesses and flat out wrong. It is not worth wading through all that effluent to see the few correct things he might guess at. The odds are worse than random odds of being right. Everyone calls him out on his stupidity and yet he continues.

He was almost the first and only person on my ignore list but I find it easier to just scroll past his ignorance. If you have ever read any of the A/C threads in the 911 air cooled forum you have seen his drivel.

First, find a post they have made. Click on their name then click on view public profile.

On the left side of the page, you'll see the user name in large letters. Look under that for a drop down "User Lists".

Click on User lists and select "add to Ignore list"

You will see their name in threads, but the post will not display.

I run a general amnesty program every spring, where I turn loose everyone on the ignore list. Those that haven't changed, go back on. My list has no one on it right now, as most of the really stupid ones have been banned.

wwest.

I don't know who he's paying at PP, but his bans never stick.

The ignore list is a useful feature. It makes reading most discussions easier. The only catch is that if someone quotes an ignoree, the drivel is visible but most of the time it's not.

Call him out.

You will be helping others.
(and perhaps him.)

He has been called. No one answered.

Turns every A/C thread to crap. I stopped reading his drivel a long time ago but some of the responses to his posts are priceless. He usually has more responses in an A/C thread than the O/P.

GH85Carrera 09-10-2015 07:03 PM

He has been called out constantly by virtually every other person on the thread. Some of his replies are so stupid they are funny. Mostly just irritating and he gets a slap on the wrist and gets a short ban. He just shows up again with the same bs.
