Wait Wait - Don't Tell Me - is an NPR podcast which has a semi-regular panel of comedians and then a guest host that might have a scientific, technical, actor/actress, musician - or any other background. Questions are asked of the guest or panel to query their knowledge of recent events. Can be both very humorous as well as informative.

Freako-nomics - hosted by authors of the book of the same title. Very interesting subject matter discussed by "experts/professors" on many different topics. Most have an economic/financial type connection. They may have a show on tipping, legalization of marijuana vs alcohol, true value of higher education, etc.

Stuff You Should Know - two male hosts discuss a topic of interest each podcast. Topics are varied every week. One week might be on Blood Types - A, B, and 0 - and why they mean and how transfusions between types are possible. Another topic might be malaria, the black plague, or bitcoin.
