Changes you'd like to the solar system?

How would you change the solar system, if you could, assuming you remain bound by physical laws?

Would you like two planets in the habitable zone where Earth is, so that we might have intelligent life just light seconds away? Multiple moons for Earth, so it there would always be moonlight at night? A bigger moon, for stronger tidal effects? More gas giants, more rings? A smaller Earth, with lower gravity and a thinner atmosphere?

More alien chicks...

It would be really cool to have a planet whose rings you could see with the naked eye, but having a planet that close would really mess with tides etc.

Dyson Sphere. ;)

javadog 09-14-2015 10:20 AM

I would like for it to revolve around me.

I am a believer that any human-initiated changes, alterations, updates, modifications, additions, subtractions or tweaking of the solar system would put it out of whack in catastrophic and unrecoverable ways.

with the heat waves, pine beetles, and wildfire.

cool this place off a little bit. i would schooch the entire solar system away from the sun about 10-15 feet.

Dyson Sphere
I'd vote for that - although a Dyson Sphere includes it's own sun - hypothetically.

If there were a second earth like planet in the habitable zone around the Sun, there might be green alien chicks on it, but they might have tentacles and be poisonous, so YMMV.

I'm still trying to get my truck started, so I'll have to get back to you on this one.

pavulon 09-14-2015 11:49 AM

Would like a planet a couple hours away loaded with sports cars, hot boats, aircraft and smokin' alien chicks who love bald, middle-aged men. Or maybe just 28 hours for each day here. Either or both... .

However it may be arranged I'd like to need to heat my house for fewer than 6 months per year. IOW a three month winter would be fine.

come south
we sometimes have a 3 day winter here [ in a bad year]
but most are over by noon

move Venus out a bit and chill it

move mars in a bit and make it warm and wet

Ship Earth jerks to Uranus. ;)

Another moon orbiting Earth would be cool. Move the Solar System perpendicular enough to the galactic plane so we can sort of make out the Milky Way's spiral in the night sky.

The Orion Slave Girl aka Cat Woman is dead.:(

jyl 09-14-2015 05:44 PM

I'm thinking if earth standard gravity were lower, I'd be able to dunk.

rusnak 09-14-2015 05:49 PM

The solar system? I'd settle for more intelligent life on Earth.

mreid 09-14-2015 06:07 PM

I want this guide to be true and on my bucket list.

Low gravity. I'd love to able to jump over a house like Superman

pksystems 09-14-2015 06:43 PM

Closer to sun.

Would be awesome if we weren't 10C below seasonal average for most of the summer.
