fantasy for a week..
I was wondering if any of you guys are playing these one week fantasy football deals, such as fan-duel or draft-kings? I know this is likely not the demo they are looking to attract, but was still curious. I play a couple of free yahoo fantasy teams a year to great entertainment delight. these OW services seem like they are catering to the guy who gets his jones by the gamble and could lead to further gambling addiction issues very quick like? that's why ive not explored it personally...
I saw something the other day that stated the current advertising big spenders are the two companies I reference above... by a long , long way according to the article, with proof whenever I listen to, or watch commercial tv or radio... ive resisted due to an addictive personality.... have you? you a millionaire by now like they say? |
I tried it out since they give you a matching bonus. It's ok but you have to get really, REALLY, lucky to win any big money, but it certainly is possible.
You basically have a set amount of money to spend on players (say $50,000) and good players cost a ton. So you have to get lucky by picking some random no name and have them catch 3+ TD's.... and thats just to get in the money. I got paid 3 out of the 5 weeks I played, BUT every week I got paid, I wagered more than I made so it was a losing prop. I forget the exact numbers but you pay $5 to play, then win $3.40, etc. There were more than 500,000 players and they paid the top 125,000. Think of it like a World Series of Poker pay out structure. Many play, few win money. |
I just don't understand Fantasy Football at all. Those big sweaty men in sexy panties or underwear is repulsive. How can any heterosexual male fantasize about them. I am clueless. It makes no sense.
